Art Tatum - Legendary 1956 Session [NEW CD]

This release contains the complete original LP The Art Tatum Trio (Verve MGV-8118), pairing the superb pianist with bassist Red Callender and the great swing drummer Jo Jones (this is the only existing studio collaborations between Tatum and Jones). This was among the last sessions recorded by Tatum, who would die soon after on November 5, 1956 at the age of 47. As a bonus to the ten tracks on the original album, it is include different versions by Tatum of seven of the LP's songs, which have been organized here in the same song order as on the Tatum-Callender_Jones date.
