NEW MINI-LP PAPERSLEEVE GATEFOLD REPLICA WITH OBI2 ORIGINAL ALBUMS OBN 1 CD Plus 4 BONUS TRACKSThis release includes two of B.B. King’s finest albums: Singin’ the Blues (1957) and More B.B. King (1961), both originally released by the Crown label at the beginning of King’s career. The best thing about all these songs is that they feature King’s voice and guitar in their most essential form; upfront, sharp and strong, in a spare, blue setting. Singin’ the Blues was the 1957 budget-priced compilation LP of B.B. King on the Bihari brothers’ Crown label (a subsidiary of Modern Records). It’s a superb collection of King’s early hits, originally released on the RPM label between 1952 and 1956. In five short years, B.B. King had matured from an artist looking for a style to the premier bluesman of his generation. His modern style that crosses rock & roll and R&B with the jump blues is fully developed here, and his consistency from track to track is remarkable. This is the material upon which B.B.’s kingdom was built.B.B. KING, vocals and guitar, plus:The Maxwell Davis Orchestra.Recorded between 1953 and 1960.Except track 26: The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, featuring Adele Francis (female vocals).Recorded in January 1959.(*) BONUS ALBUM (13-22): MORE B.
