This essential CD edition contains two of Doggettâs finest albums from this period: "Everybody Dance the Honky Tonk", and the equally-splendid "Doggett Beat for Dancing Feet". Both LPs are highly recommended for fans of uptempo organ/saxophone combos. They have been remastered and packaged together in this very special collectorâs edition, which also contains 5 bonus tracks â including overlooked sides issued by the King label during the same period, such as âGumbo,â the Halloween novelty âMonster Party,â âReal Gone Mambo,â a vocal version of âHonky Tonkâ (which includes vocals by Tommy Brown), and the proto-funky âHold Itâ (later covered by James Brown & His Famous Flames)
Recorded in New York, Chicago, and Cincinnati, 1953-1957.
