This CD presents the complete original album Chet Baker in New York, featuring the West Coast trumpeter in the company of a strong New York unit including Johnny Griffin, Al Haig, Paul Chambers and Philly Joe Jones. These tracks mark the only collaborative recordings by Baker and Griffin. As a bonus, one of the two sessions from the album Chet Baker Plays the Best of Lerner and Loewe (the other session, with Bill Evans on piano, can be found on our companion volume Chet Baker and Bill Evans,The Complete Legendary Sessions (AJC 99005).
