Presented here are the complete 1959 studio recordings made by the great Chet Baker in Milan, Italy, backed by a big band and string section conducted by Len Mercer (professional name of the Italian composer and arranger Ezio Leone). Among the various highlights are wonderful readings of Chet’s hits “My Funny Valentine” and “Forgetful”, as well as his earliest versions of “Angel Eyes” and “When I Fall in Love”. Among the nine bonus tracks are three additional versions of “My Funny Valentine”, as well as Chet’s poignant rendition of “Autumn Leaves”.
