This edition comprises two early sessions by Clark Terry. The CD’s first date (tracks 1-8) marks the trumpeter’s recording debut as a leader, and, as is customary, the title of the original LP simply bore his name. He counted on the inestimable collaboration of arranger and composer Quincy Jones for the occasion, who some years before had been Terry’s trumpet student in Seattle.
