(New Jazz NJLP8257), Don Ellisâ third album as a leader, on which he is
the only horn backed by Al Francis on vibes, Jaki Byard on piano, Ron
Carter on bass, and Charlie Persip on drums. An extremely rare 1958
version of âIt Donât Mean a Thingâ pairing Ellis with Zoot Sims in a
quintet format, has been added as a bonus.
