Presented here is the complete original LP For Musicians Only (Verve MGV8198), on which Stan Getz, Dizzy Gillespie and Sonny Stitt share the frontline backed by a rhythm section led by John Lewis. Although the three legendary horn players never got together in the studio on any other occasion, they Ndid share the stage at a few Jazz at the Philharmonic concerts. The only existing alternate take from the studio date and two rare 1957 tracks taped in Chicago, Nwhich also showcase Getz, Gillespie, Stitt and Lewis (among them another version of “Wee”), have been added as a bonus.
