This release contains the complete classic album Tenor Conclave (Prestige LP 7074), an extraordinary work that brought together four of the best jazz tenor saxophonists ever: John Coltrane, Al Cohn, Zoot Sims and Hank Mobley. As a bonus, another tenor encounter featuring John Coltrane, this time with swing legend Paul Quinichette. All four tracks from the album Cattin’ with Coltrane and Quinichette (Prestige 7158) on which they play together have been added as a bonus (the session’s two titles without Coltrane have not been included here).
