This
release contains the complete original album "Kenny Burrell" (Prestige
7088) [also issued as Blue Moods (Prestige 7308)], featuring the great
guitarist in a quintet format with Cecil Payne, Tommy Flanagan, Doug
Watkins, and Elvin Jones. As a bonus, the complete rare LP "Brightâs
Spot" (Regent MG6041, Savoy MG12206), showcasing Burrell in a trio
setting along with the underrated pianist Ronnell Bright, and bassist
Leonard Gaskin. In addition, this CD features three further rare tracks
by Burrell: a duet with drummer Kenny Clarke, another one with Thad
Jones, and a trumpet- guitar-bass trio with Thad Jones and Oscar
Pettiford, all of which were recorded during the same period and were
the only tracks in those formats from otherwise larger group sessions
