The \nformation took the challenge to experiment with musical forms foreign to\n jazz and, in addition to playing standard tunes like everyone else, \nthey introduced many new compositions that gave the formation its \nidentity. Most of the songs were composed by Brubeck, as is the case on \nthe album \u003cem\u003eTime Out\u003c\/em\u003e. However, one of the most catchy melodies on\n that album, “Take Five”, was a Paul Desmond composition, and it would \nbecome the quartet’s most celebrated tune.
