This sensational edition contains all of the studio recordings of Chico Hamilton’s outstanding quintet featuring Buddy Collette and Jim Hall.

In addition, this release also contains as bonus tracks the quintet’s first live session, which occupied Side B of the original LP. These selections (16 to 20) were recorded at a club named The Strollers only a few weeks after the formation of the quintet. The club ambience is clearly noticeable and the horn of a passing car is also heard at one point during the bass intro of Walking Carson Blues.
