They have been compiled on this release in their entirety for the first time ever, and are presented here in chronological order. Their collaborative discography consists of the complete LPs Gene Ammons Hi Fidelity Jam Session (Prestige LP7039; aka The Happy Blues); Gene Ammons All Stars - Hi Fi Jam Session (Prestige LP7060; aka Jammin’ with Gene); and Gene Ammons Hi-Fi Jam Session- Funky (Prestige LP7083), plus the only two Ammons-Farmer conjunct recordings from Gene Ammons All Stars (Prestige LP7050).The trumpeter and tenorist are joined on these amazing sessions by such celebrated musicians as Jackie McLean (who plays on all but the first two sides), Lou Donaldson, Donald Byrd, Duke Jordan, Mal Waldron, and Kenny Clarke, among others.
