Description
Originally released in 1964, Getz/Gilberto pairs American saxophonist Stan Getz with Brazilian guitarist and vocalist João Gilberto. Produced by Creed Taylor, the album brought jazz and bossa nova together through understated arrangements, relaxed rhythms, and compositions associated with Antônio Carlos Jobim.

The sessions feature Jobim on piano and Astrud Gilberto on vocals, including her performance on “The Girl from Ipanema.” Getz/Gilberto became the first jazz recording to receive the Grammy Award for Album of the Year and also includes “Desafinado,” “Corcovado,” and “Só Danço Samba.”
