Based on the 1958 novel by the same name, it was adapted by Richard Maibaum, Johanna Harwood, and Berkely Mather, and directed by Terence Young. The music, composed by Monty Norman, marked the debut of the iconic “James Bond Theme” performed by the John Barry orchestra, and also included various Jamaican tunes featuring Byron Lee and the Dragonaires.
