Presented here is the complete original John Coltrane album My Favorite Things (Atlantic SD1361), which includes the saxophonist’s original studio recording of the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic, plus three unforgettable versions of standards by Cole Porter and George NGershwin. While “Summertime” and “But Not for Me” were briefl y a part of Trane’s concert repertoire, “My Favorite Things” and “Everytime We Say Goodbye” would be performed regularly by the saxophonist and various versions exist, among them the two readings from a 1962 Graz concert added here as a bonus.
