Presented in Europe in 1956 under the title of Davisâ Cup were Miles Davisâ earliest recordings for Columbia. Most of the tracks had been previously released on the album âRound About Midnight (CL949), which marked the trumpeterâs first LP for that label. Milesâ 1952 studio version of âDear Old Stockholm,â his 1958 Newport reading of âBye Bye Blackbird,â Band his Prestige recording of ââRound Midnight,â taped the same year as the one from the Columbia LP, have been added here as bonus tracks.
