Originally released in 1991, Gish is the debut studio album from The Smashing Pumpkins. Blending heavy psychedelic rock with dreamy atmospherics and dynamic songwriting, the album established Billy Corgan’s distinctive guitar tone and layered production style. From the explosive opener “I Am One” to the expansive textures of “Rhinoceros,” Gish laid the foundation for the band’s rise throughout the 1990s alternative rock movement.
