    Rockabilly is one of the earliest styles of Rock 'N' Roll music to emerge during the '50s. The term "Rockabilly" is a portmanteau of "Rock," from Rock 'N' Roll, and "billy" from Hillbilly (i.e. Country Music) that contributed strongly to the style's development. Other important influences on Rockabilly include Western Swing, Blues music, Boogie Woogie, and Jump Blues. Although there are notable exceptions, it's origins lie primarily in the American South. The influence and popularity of the style waned in the '60s, but during the late '70s and early '80s, Rockabilly enjoyed a major revival of popularity that has endured to the present. Includes cuts from Elvis Presley, Gene Vincent, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Roy Orbison, Johnny Burnette and others.
