    Digitally re-mastered edition of the Original Broadway Cast recording of this beloved musical starring Mary Martin and Theodore Bikel. The Sound of Music opened in New York's Mark Hellinger Theatre on the 6th of November 1962 and closed on the 15th of June 1963 after 1443 performances. Starring Mary Martin and Theodore Bikel, this production won five Tony Awards and was nominated for a further three. The children's cast was nominated for Best Featured Actress even though two of them were actually boys. This cast recording went on to sell over three million copies.
